Let's read a story titled "The Goose Girl." The story has two parts: The Journey Begins and Ani’s Triumph. While reading, highlight the story features as listed in the Table. 

Text Structure

• Where did the story take place?

• How did the story start?

Complication

• What happened to the characters?

• What challenges did the characters encounter in the story?

Climax

• What is the biggest problem in the story?

Resolution

• How did the characters solve the problems?

Answer:

Orientation

• The characters are the princess (Ani) & the queen

• The story took place once upon a time

• The story take place in the kingdom of Kildenree

• The story started by describing Ani’s gift and how she got it.

Complication

• The main character struggled with her conidence as crown princess and a future queen.

• The challenge that the main character encountered is that she was always under the shadow of the queen.

Climax

• The biggest problem is that Ani had to leave Kildenree and marry the prince of Bayern

Resolution

• The characters solve the problems after meeting Gilsa and Finn.

• The ending is a happy ending because Ani finally rediscover her sense of purpose and determination.
