Practice 1

Reread “The Goose Girl” story. Find all direct and indirect speeches and change them from direct to indirect and the other way around.

Practice 2

Change the indirect speech into the direct speech form.

a. She sang that she was a pretty lower.

b. She boasted that strong winds and heavy rain would not destroy her. Her beauty would calm them down.

c. She cried that she did not want to lose her beauty and sparkle.
