1) The story’s description of the dirty earth contrasts with the image of the boy discovering a small red flower. The little red flower represents hope, optimism, and potential for life amidst destruction. When the boy takes the flower to the moon, it shows how he moves the flower from the polluted environment of Earth and places it in a pure, pollution-free environment.
This activity is similar to the growth of the moonflower, which survives in the clean environment of the moon. Thus, the tiny red flower and moonflower represent regeneration, proving that life can lourish when given the opportunity and care.
2) The boy’s decision to take the small red flower to the moon relects his hope and determination to solve Earth’s destruction by seeking out a new, clean environment in which life can thrive.
