Part 1

In this test section, you will hear a narrative entitled "The Red Moon." Listen to the narrative and fill in the blanks with the words provided.

The Red Moon

Once upon a time, there was a sad, small, grey world. They had all kinds of technology, but the people who ____(1) there didn't try to keep them in good condition. The damage was so severe that no plants or animals ____(2) in the area.

One day, while playing outside, a boy ____(3) a cave with a small red flower within. The boy carefully ____(4) the sick and nearly dead flower from the ground, including the roots and soil. He then ____(5) to find a location where he could plant it.

Everywhere he looked, he saw pollution. He looked up into the sky and ____ (6) the moon. The boy thought the plant would survive there.

This little boy put on his space suit and went to a spaceship. He ____(7) for the moon after he put the little red flower in the back.

The flower started to grow well after the boy checked on it daily, and it was ____(8) far away from pollution. It flowered more since it was well-cared for, which prompted other flowers to grow well, too. Moonflowers quickly ____(9) around the moon.

When the boy's flowers ____(10), the moon turned red. It signaled there was trouble. It's also a message to take care of Earth.
